These terms cover the STRIDE website at stridecsgo.net, the STRIDE launcher and the matches we host. By signing in or using the launcher you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use STRIDE.

Who runs STRIDE

STRIDE is run by Egon Merkel (Germany). In these terms "we" and "us" means them, and "you" means anyone who uses the site or the launcher.

STRIDE is a fan project. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Valve Corporation. Counter-Strike, CS:GO and Steam are trademarks of Valve Corporation. Discord and FACEIT belong to their owners.

Who can play

You must be at least 16 years old. If the law where you live sets a higher age for using a service like this without a parent's permission, you need that permission too.

You sign in with Discord. To queue you also need a Steam account that passes our checks, which look at things like playtime, account age and VAC or game bans. We decide who passes, and during the beta we may limit who can sign in at all.

One account per person. Don't share your account, sell it, or play on someone else's.

Your account

Keep your Discord and Steam accounts secure, because they are how you get into STRIDE. You can see and sign out your active sessions in Settings. Tell us straight away if you think someone else got in.

You are responsible for what happens on your account.

Fair play

When you use STRIDE you must not:

  • use cheats, scripts, macros or any software that gives you an unfair advantage
  • exploit bugs on purpose, or keep using one after you found it instead of reporting it
  • boost, throw, fix matches or trade wins with other players
  • play on a second account to get easier matches, or let someone else play on yours
  • harass, threaten or abuse other players, or post hateful or sexual content
  • spam chat, impersonate staff or other players, or scam people in trades
  • sell or buy coins, items or accounts for real money or anything else outside STRIDE
  • trade commends or use them to harass someone
  • make a new account or use another PC to get around a ban
  • attack, overload or probe our servers, or try to get into accounts or data that aren't yours

If you break these rules we can warn you, add queue penalties, block trading or the market, remove coins and items gained through the abuse, or ban your account. We decide based on what we can see, and we don't always explain the evidence, because that would help people get around it. If you think we got it wrong, contact us.

Coins, cases and items

Coins, cases, skins and other items on STRIDE only exist on our platform. They are not Steam items and can't be moved to Steam.

You get them by playing, opening cases, trading with other players, using the market and, once coin packs launch, by buying coins. Whichever way you get them, you get a licence to use them on STRIDE while your account is in good standing. You don't own them.

Coins and items have no cash value. We never buy them back, and you can't withdraw them or exchange them for money. Buying something with coins on STRIDE doesn't give it a value in real money either.

Don't sell or buy coins, items or accounts for real money or anything else outside STRIDE. If you do, we can remove the coins and items involved and ban the accounts.

Cases give a random item. Case odds are the same as CS:GO's: Mil-Spec 79.92%, Restricted 15.98%, Classified 3.20%, Covert 0.64% and a rare special item 0.26%. CS:GO's official odds are published at www.csgo.com.cn/news/gamebroad/20170911/206155.shtml.

Trades and market sales are final once both sides confirm. Check what you're giving before you accept. Who can see your inventory and send you trade offers depends on the privacy setting you pick in Settings.

Changing your name and resetting your statistics cost coins. Each account has three statistics resets in total, and a reset can't be undone.

The battlepass leaderboard ranks players by season XP. Players who finish the pass rank by when they finished it, so extra XP from the last match doesn't move anyone ahead.

We can change prices, drop rates within the published odds, and how items work, add or remove items, and reset balances or inventories when the game needs it. We'll try to warn you before a reset, but we can't promise to. We can remove coins and items gained through a bug or abuse.

If we shut STRIDE down, coins and items end with it. Coins you paid for are handled as the law requires.

The launcher

You can use the launcher for free to play on STRIDE. It updates itself, and an update may be required to keep playing.

The launcher includes CARDINAL, our anti-cheat. It runs while CS:GO is open, and if it finds a cheat or tampered game files it can stop you from joining a match.

Don't modify, decompile or reverse engineer the launcher to cheat, get around a ban or interfere with other players. The launcher page explains what the launcher does on your PC, and the privacy policy covers what it sends us.

What you post

Your name, avatar, chat messages, market listings and anything else you put on STRIDE stay yours. You give us permission to show them on STRIDE, and in our Discord when you choose to share a listing there, for as long as they're on the platform.

Our match servers record a demo of every match. Any signed-in player can download it for 14 days.

We can remove anything that breaks these terms.

Ads

Some public pages show ads from Google. The launcher doesn't show ads. The privacy policy explains the cookies ads use and how to opt out.

Availability and changes

STRIDE is in beta. Features break, servers go down, and match results, stats or items can be lost. We provide STRIDE as it is, without promising it will always be available or free of errors.

We can change, pause or stop any part of STRIDE, including the whole platform.

Liability

As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses, lost data or virtual items, or anything caused by third-party services such as Steam, Discord or your game installation.

Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer that the law says can't be limited, or our liability for fraud, gross negligence, or death or injury caused by our negligence.

Leaving or being removed

You can stop using STRIDE at any time. To delete your account, contact us and we'll do it as the privacy policy describes.

We can suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or if we shut STRIDE down.

Changes to these terms

We'll update these terms as STRIDE changes. For bigger changes we'll post in Discord or show a notice on the site before they take effect. If you keep playing after that, the new terms apply.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of Germany. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protection of the law where you live, and you can take a dispute to the courts there.
